Teeth of Winter is a major event in Chapter 9 - North.
Overview[]
Approaching a station, screams can be heard, as a woman has been having a frantic outburst with a few Czechoslovak soldiers. Your fighters start losing their control and temper.
If a soldier is present with the Indifferent trait, he will advise to shoot the woman, which prompts Captain Langer to run out and scold the soldier.
The woman shows signs of rabies, and she immediately converts into a stance of fear, but Langer manages to calm her down and bring her into the train. Upon the interrogation, Langer gets so much as that the woman is a local, whose family is mostly dead, and claims to have been attacked by wolves and red demons.
Soon enough, the father of the woman approaches. He tells you that the nearby village of Lipovtsy has been taken Reds, plundering it. Upon first inspection, the village is clearly looking untouched, with howling wolves around.
Walkthrough[]
Biting silence (2,250 XP)[]
Your soldiers set out on a snow-covered path with a watchtower just ahead. Capture it and you will see some wolves lurking about. Just before moving down there, notice a trail leading to the west: on its end you will find some metal and wood stashes by the remnants of a campfire.
Survival of the species (9,000 XP)[]
Upon reaching the village, a few wolves will attack you. Drive them away and soon enough your comrades will deduce that something must have driven the wolves away from their den, prompting to investigate further.
Madness of the Wolves (3,000 XP)[]
You will find that the village is completely silent and the locals are nowhere to show. Many bodies lie on the streets, including that of the local priest. One of them can be looted for a Key, which opens up a courtyard, hiding Explosives.
Lair of despair (7,500 XP)[]
You can take two paths out of the village.
Take the left path instead, leading through wooden bridges and additional trails. You will end up finding a cave entrance that has been supported by some rudimentary wooden scaffolding. This is the wolf den.
Den of darkness (6,000 XP)[]
You will be advised to destroy the entrance with explosives. The clearing in front of it has a lot of wolves, so try to overwhelm them with your firepower. Once there are no more wolves lurking about, move in and set the explosives up.
Precious metal (XP)[]
Going to the right will lead you through some forest trails, guarded by more wolves. Eventually the trail ends in a small encampment near a mineshaft that the Reds have set up, garrisoned along with a Heavy Tank.
Vlaštibor Svoboda will become enthusiastic about the ungarrisoned tank and advise taking it. This is however not the best idea to do right away, as the heart of the Reds' camp lies just forward on the road, guarded by a manned Heavy Tank and about a dozen other soldiers with an Officer, inviting them to a losing battle of yours. Only when the coast is clear and the few Reds along the barricade are eliminated, take it.
Burn and pillage (7,500 XP)[]
It's time to destroy the Red camp and get whatever supplies you can to put an end to the wolves' madness. As the camp is revealed, the garrison move into one group, leaving you the bushes with some scattered sentries to infiltrate and cause as much mayhem as you can. The pickups and destructible objectives are marked with indicators.
Be careful that after destroying four crates, a small squad will arrive from various directions and patrol the camp.
From this point on, you can exit the mission area, if you have arrived here from the village.
Aftermath[]
The father of the crazed woman brings you to a place where he hid supplies, hoping to survive several winters with his family. After that, he walks in the direction of the Red Camp, kicking the bodies, then ending his own life with a gun.
Along the cargo there are 2 Pattern 14 Sniper Rifles, cigarettes, vodka and money with food and coal.
