Spreading of Sickness is a major event in Chapter 7.
Overview[]
A disease breaks out on the train, as the harsh conditions of living takes its toll: typhoid has appeared. It makes soldiers ill, cough and digestive problems.
Captain Langer inspects the soldiers and advises two possibilities: stricter hygiene rules, and additionally the destruction of the source of the infection.
- If hygiene rules are enforced:
- The sick are quarantined and commonly used objects and features are kept private. The rules bear fruit, however it cannot prevent the fall of several soldiers.
- 4 soldiers become Ill.
- 2 soldiers also become Seriously Ill.
- If the strictest option is chosen:
- The sick are quarantined, cutlery and clothing are not shared, hands are to be washed at all times, contaminated food is destroyed. The rules have an effect and the infection is contained.
- 20% of the current food stock is lost in the process.
- 4 soldiers also become Ill.
