Lion's Den is a story combat mission in Chapter 7.
Briefing[]
The Legionnaires receive a telegram from a messenger on Verhneudinsk station, where a White contingent has entrenched around a nearby mine. They attempt to contain Reds defending the mine, and a convoy of theirs were supposed to pass, but ammunition is scarce and they couldn't properly continue to attack.
Walkthrough[]
Catching up with friends (2,000 XP)[]
Your soldiers arrive in a village, where two trucks are waiting your command. Before you talk to the soldier overseeing the operation, go around the play area and claim any pickups you find. A priest is also there for an additional few first aid kits and vodka.
The convoy guardian (12,000 XP)[]
You need to escort two trucks along a road.
On the way, you will encounter two squads of Reds that have considerable firepower, but given their reaction time, you can easily pick most of them off from long range. Use covers to mitigate damage.
At eternity's gate (4,500 XP)[]
Eventually you reach the mine entrance that has been sealed shut and you will need to search around for explosives. There is a freight station area just south to the road, where a few Reds are patrolling. Search the area and perform a clear sweep. Keep a few soldiers on guard duty as the Reds will harass the exposed trucks with small parties.
Construction ahead (6,000 XP)[]
The road takes a U-turn into a narrow elevation, then a ridge, where a bridge going forward has been destroyed. Overlooking a road are some wooden houses, where a small guard with a repair kit is found: clear the enemies and retrieve the tools.
Just on the other side of the bridge there is a Heavy Machine Gun, as well as assorted patrols: dispose of these from long range. Enemies may come around from beneath the bridge, so be careful. Repair the bridge to continue.
Out of the way (6,000 XP)[]
The convoy's route continues under a railroad bridge into an abandoned factory area that is lightly garrisoned by Reds. There are a pile of boxes that need to be cleared. Clear the five soldiers around the facility, then blow the makeshift barricade up from a safe distance.
The trucks will make one final stretch to the area uphill, into a small village area. On the way a few Reds will come from the southern area. Use the roadside fences to eliminate them from cover, then the trucks will safely leave the area. Exit the mission.
Aftermath[]
The Whites successfully ferry their ammunition that looks like a trifle to their camp. The officer laughs maniacally as he asserts that most of his men wouldn't make it alive anyways. He shares some food with the company before departing.
