The Artillery car is a rare car providing offensive and defensive capabilities to the train.
In-game description:
The artillery car has two armored turrets with long-range cannons. Owing to its durable steel plating, it is best positioned at the front of the train, where it can deflect incoming damage. If the gun turrets are manned, they can provide distant fire support for infantry units on a mission. Machine gun emplacements are also housed inside this car and help defend the train if it is attacked.
Function[]
The Artillery car is a valuable addition to the Train, enabling the player to conduct Artillery Strikes during the mission from the car's built-in turrets, as well as providing protection against attacks on the Train.
The car comes with two mounted gun posts, which can be individually assigned a Worker each, in order to be operational:
- The Cannon Post grants the global ability to bombard a small area with artillery shells during combat missions. The ability consumes Artillery Shells from the Train's inventory on use and can be used up to 3 times (4 times with Shell Depot), provided there is enough supply.
- The Machine Gun Post enhances the protection of the Train against attacks that can occur when the Threat level is high enough. When triggered, the Train uses machine gun ammo from its inventory.
Workers on the lookout constantly gain experience, making it a good source for leveling them up fast.
Maintenance[]
Like most other cars, the Artillery car is susceptible to breakdowns on lower durability. Soldiers with the Reckless trait are also more prone to workplace accidents, which can be mitigated by Security Precautions.
Upgrades[]
- Artillery:
- Shell Depot increases the number of use for Artillery Strikes in a mission (from 3 to 4).
- Occupation Slots:
- Security Precautions decreases the chance of workplace accidents by 50%.
- Heating: the car can be outfitted with an upgradable stove and up to 2 layers of insulation.
